Title: Communications, Design and Social Media Intern

Internship Description: The Communications, Design and Social Media intern implements and evaluates the WGRC’s communications, marketing and social media programs. The intern will be responsible for developing educational outreach materials, as well as developing advertising and marketing materials to promote the WGRC’s many programming efforts.
Primary responsibilities include designing of marketing materials for events and programs, most notably fliers and social media graphics; developing news releases and effective ad copy for distribution to both the university and at-large media outlets; maintaining and updating the WGRC’s website; and generating sustainable and engaging connections with the campus and community via the WGRC’s social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, etc.).
Qualifications: Intern must be junior level or higher majoring in advertising, public relations, marketing or related field. Experience in the areas of event planning, design or marketing is ideal. Applicant must be fluent in Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop), must have knowledge of PR writing and AP style and must have working knowledge of Hootsuite or other social media scheduling programs. Knowledge of email marketing (MailChimp, Constant Contact, etc.) and internet content management systems is preferred.
