The internship in the acquisitions department of The University of Alabama Press, the scholarly and academic publishing division of the University of Alabama System, consists of weekly onsite administrative activities. The intern is expected to be available at the Press offices in the McMillan Building on the University of Alabama campus every week throughout the semester, for a minimum of ten hours per week. This is an unpaid internship, but the student should acquire a priceless introduction to the publishing business. If a student continues on for another semester, there is a possibility of payment. The starting date preferred is early September.
