WVUA-FM, the student radio station here on campus, which operates out of the office of student media, is hiring.

On Air DJ or Show Host- This is where most students start out, in a DJ position doing a DJ show weekly with talk breaks in between music! It’s super easy, super fun, and can open up specialty show opportunities in future semesters!

Staff Writer- Our digital media team is always looking for staff writers to write entertainment and music pieces for our website! I started out as a staff writer for the station, and it was amazing, and provided me with a portfolio of web published writings to add to my resume. This position actually ended up helping me get a paid digital marketing internship the summer after my sophomore year, so it’s really an awesome opportunity!

Music Staff- At the station, we get sent promotional copies of music daily. Hundreds of emails weekly. Our music director is always looking for new music staff members to help listen to the music submissions and decide whether or not they should be played on air! Any music lovers should get involved with this, it also teaches a lot about A&R, music label marketing, and can be a great experience for anyone aspiring to get involved with the music industry after college!

Sports Staff- We are looking for sports writers and podcasters to cover just about every sport! These sports writing pieces and podcasts are an amazing resume booster for anyone looking to get into sports broadcasting, and also comes with the perk of press passes to just about any sport on campus* (subject to availability and covid regulations of course)!
