Communications and Marketing

The position of Communications and Marketing is responsible for designing and executing a comprehensive communications plan that

communicates Rice and Beans Ministries’ (RABMIN’s) successes and targets channels which support our strategic priorities and mission.

The communication position should be able to tell our story through a clear voice through current and evolving platforms both electronic and

print. Professionalism, follow-through, and helping RABMIN’s message be are key to this critical position. This role is a partnership with the director

and works in conjunction with all members of RABMIN’s staff to tell the impact of our mission and our work. RABMIN is a faith based mission organization that serves in Costa Rica, Brazil and The USA. We serve in 3 distinct areas of mission to share hope but not limited to the following :

  • Children – anti-bullying , School supplies and uniforms
  • Food – Help families with food, having community gardens
  • Home – provide home repair for the under resourced

Responsibilities

This role will establish editorial direction, brand voice, design, production and distribution of materials and offer clear strategic direction through

strong leadership in RABMIN’s communication. Communicating and promoting the missional opportunities we have

currently and always preparing for the future. They will drive forward the following areas of responsibilities:

  • Communication: Act as point-person for the media, and coordinate and seek media interest and speaking opportunities, as well as develop opportunities for our volunteers to share the message of RABMIN to their peer communities
  • Brand Management: Use the current branding we have to promote the story , the message and the future of RABMIN as we serve globally. Manage brand usage across departments and with any external partners
  • Marketing: Create written and designed materials that RABMIN uses for communication, recruitment, fundraising, etc. Create and promote current and new appeals (campaigns) for donations

 

Like everyone at RABMIN, this role will perform other organization wide duties and responsibilities, as needed.

Important Considerations

  • Could require some weekend and evening work; could have visits to our current clients and new clients.
  • Requires use of a personal vehicle for business purposes.
  • The position requires use of a personal cell phone.
  • This position can be remote however travel to the home office in Hattiesburg Ms is a possibility or can relocate to Hattiesburg Ms

 

Position Qualifications

  • Relevant experience in marketing, communications, social media, journalism, or public relations. Experience in the nonprofit field a

plus. College Degree a plus

  • Understanding of balance between strategist, who can lead and guide, and skills of a creative with a get it done attitude.
  • Exceptional writing, messaging, editing, branding, and storytelling abilities/skills, making programs and concepts understandable and

compelling to varied target audiences.

  • Keen understanding and hands-on experience with integrated digital marketing strategies, platforms, and associated tools including, but

not limited to, email marketing (MailChimp or similar), website development, YouTube, social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, emerging platforms), Google AdWords, etc.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. A self-directed professional who has passion, works adeptly cross-functionally, a positive attitude, and a commitment to mission.
  • Must have a passport to travel to our international sites to better know the story

 

Salary Information The salary package for this role has a range that starts in the $40-50k however the salary is based on experience and interview.
