Director of Library Resources

Point University is a Christian institution that educates our students within a Christian worldview so they are equipped to take their faith into the marketplace and all of life while achieving their professional goals. The Director of Library Resources is responsible for the administration and oversight of all library resources and staff. The Director will be responsible for the continuous improvement of library services and resources that are continuously functional, fully- accessible that follow best practices that support the ongoing development of technology.

Essential Duties

• Collection development: Determine the need for collections, selection criteria, and the acquisition of information resources.
• Technical services: Oversee all aspects of the delivery of information resources to the Point community.
• Lead the development, implementation and maintenance of an Information Literacy program that is comprehensive, robust, on-going, and flexible. Maintain collaborative communications with the College Deans concerning Collection Development and Information Literacy.
• Provide services, including reference service, to all students, in all locations, and across all instructional modalities.
• Manage and maintain all collections of physical materials: acquisition, processing, organization, circulation, weeding.

  Minimum Qualifications

• M.L.S. or equivalent from an ALA accredited program
• Experience in an Academic Library: Digital library experience, cataloging,

  database management

• Demonstrated experience in the following skill sets:

  o Customer Service
  o Leadership
  o Effective communication o Technology
  o Organization
  o Instruction
