Did you spot the AI images used in this Communicator Issue?
The C&IS graphic designers often experiment with artificial intelligence in their design work, so we decided it would be fun to use some generative AI images in this issue of Communicator. We challenged you to spot the AI images earlier in this issue. Scroll down to find out where and how we used them.

#1: AI Portraits
Found In: A Letter from the Dean
Using reference images provided by Dean Butler, we generated new headshots using Aragon.ai. The image circled is the only one that was actually photographed.
#2: Herd of Elephants
Found In: A Letter from the Dean
Adobe Firefly was prompted with "hundreds of elephants walking toward the camera in golden sunset" and produced this image.
#3: Robot Hand
Found In: Communicator 46
This robot hand was created with Adobe Firefly using the Adobe Stock image below as the reference image. It was further expanded in Adobe Photoshop using Generative Fill.

#4: Reese Phifer
Found In: Let's Talk AI
This image was created in MidJourney with the prompt, "create a bunch of glowing lines coming together to loosely form an outline of a brain that is facing left. --iw 2.0." The image below was uploaded to MidJourney for inspiration.

#5: Question Marks
Found at the top of this page
Adobe Firefly generated "technology question marks in multiple sizes" showcasing its ability (and struggles) to create typographic characters.
