About Us

The Interpersonal Research Group (IRG) at The University of Alabama is a collaborative group of faculty and graduate students who are interested in studying the processes of human behavior within interpersonal and relational contexts. Group members represent various academic disciplines (including Communication Studies and Human Development and Family Studies) and practice multiple research methods. We meet on a regular basis to discuss research projects, workshop papers, and plan events related to interpersonal research. We welcome faculty and students interested in interpersonal research to join us at one of our upcoming meetings.

Purpose Statement:

The Interpersonal Research Group (IRG) provides opportunities for faculty and students at The University of Alabama to collaborate in contexts relevant to interpersonal communication and close relationships.
