Dr. Sean Sadri is an Assistant Professor of Sports Media in the Department of Journalism and Creative Media. His teaching and research focus on sports journalism, broadcast sports production, social media, sports fan identity, and news credibility, with particular attention to how audiences engage with sports content across platforms.  

Dr. Sadri’s scholarship examines the intersection of sports, media, and digital culture, contributing to broader conversations about trust, engagement, and identity in contemporary sports communication.  

Impact Beyond the University  

Before joining the University of Alabama, Dr. Sadri was an Assistant Professor of Journalism at Old Dominion University, where he taught online and broadcast news courses. His experience across instructional formats informs his approach to digital media education and prepares students for evolving newsroom and production environments.  

Dr. Sadri earned his Ph.D. in Mass Communication from the University of Florida, an M.S. in Broadcast Journalism from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University, and a B.A. in English and Communication from the University of California, Davis.
