C&IS Engagement Portal
Tisch Student Services and External Relations
In Tisch Student Services and External Relations, we approach the student experience holistically and serve as a hub of information for C&IS students looking to learn more about academics, student leadership, career services, scholarships, student organizations, student life, recruitment and more. Located on the first floor of Reese Phifer Hall in suite 190, our doors are always open to students seeking guidance on their academic careers.
Academic advising in C&IS occurs by both professional advisors, housed in Tisch Student Services and External Relations on the first floor of Reese Phifer Hall, and by faculty members in each department. Our academic advisors value the diverse backgrounds and perspectives of our students and contribute to their academic success through coaching and mentoring. Whether you’re beginning course registration for a future semester, exploring study abroad, seeking internship opportunities, or need academic resources, you can start these conversations with your academic advisor! Through C&IS student organizations, travel programs, student leadership groups and more, there is always an opportunity for students to get involved in the C&IS community. We value the diverse perspectives in our college and support student learning through teaching, research and service.
Around Reese Phifer
Constructed in 1930, Reese Phifer Hall served as the UA student union for more than four decades. Today, Reese Phifer is home to the College of Communication and Information Sciences and houses several community and college-wide resources for students, faculty and staff.
More than 400 C&IS students participate in internships each year locally, nationally and internationally. Often landing some of the most prestigious and competitive internships, the College has a reputation employers are seeking in interns. The College offers resources to assist you with meeting employers, preparing for your interview, arranging an internship for course credit and learning how to convey your experience on your resume for future full-time employment. Each undergraduate major has an internship coordinator who can refer you to specific resources and advise on when you should look for internships related to your major. Internships are available for all five C&IS majors through the C&IS Internship Page.
