Advertising & Public Relations 

The Department of Advertising and Public Relations (A+PR) is a place for students who are passionate about the art and science of strategic communication. As a student in A+PR, you will learn from faculty who possess extensive knowledge in the fields of advertising and public relations and share the same fire to create big ideas. With their guidance, you will develop the ability to create communication campaigns with the power to move people and make a difference. 

Communication Studies 

The Department of Communication Studies is committed to excellence in teaching, research and service. Whether developing and maintaining interpersonal relationships, providing leadership for groups and organizations or fulfilling the responsibilities of public citizenship and service, communication competence is central to a rewarding personal, civic and professional life. Communication Studies prepares students to excel in whatever careers they choose by teaching them to think critically, to express and advocate ideas effectively, and to understand and appreciate human communication practices. 

Journalism and Creative Media 

Home to award-winning faculty who bring significant professional media experience and advanced academic training, the Department of Journalism and Creative Media (JCM) empowers students to be analytical storytellers who utilize an array of media to reach various audiences. Our faculty emphasize a combination of writing and production skills to ensure graduates are media professionals who understand the social and critical underpinnings of their work. Our students develop the technical and managerial skills to adapt and grow within the professional landscape.  

The School of Library and Information Studies 

The School of Library and Information Studies (SLIS) is a top-ranked program for library, information and book arts education. SLIS aims to develop creative and critical thinkers and leaders for the information world through a supportive teaching and learning environment, collaborative research and community engagement.
