About
Jackie Paulsen’s expertise spans integrated marketing communications, brand strategy, campaign development, and digital marketing, with a focus on how artificial intelligence is transforming both the communications industry and the way people engage with information.
As she continues her graduate studies at The University of Alabama, Paulsen is exploring how audience research and emerging technologies can strengthen communication strategy. Her goal is to bridge industry experience with academic research, contributing insights that are both theoretically grounded and immediately applicable to today’s evolving communications landscape.
Impact Beyond the University
Throughout her career, Paulsen has led campaigns for national brands and mission-driven organizations, earning recognition from the Webby Awards, Telly Awards, ADDYs, Golden Trumpet Awards, and Landy Awards. But some of her most meaningful work has focused on using strategic communication to serve others.
From directing marketing initiatives for Boys & Girls Clubs of America to leading fundraising campaigns supporting Children’s Miracle Network, City of Hope and the USO, Paulsen has demonstrated how thoughtful storytelling and purpose-driven branding can inspire action and strengthen communities. These experiences continue to shape both her professional work and her approach to teaching.
A Passion for Teaching and Professional Development
For Paulsen, the classroom should mirror the communications profession. She encourages students to think strategically, develop strong portfolios and gain experience through internships, leadership opportunities, and professional recognition before they graduate.
Drawing on an extensive network of agency and industry professionals, she connects students with mentors while helping them navigate career decisions and build meaningful professional relationships. Her goal is for every student to leave not only with technical skills and creative expertise, but also with the confidence, connections, and sense of purpose to succeed in an ever-changing communications industry.
