Mental Health Support at C&IS
The College of Communication and Information Sciences is proud to announce a partnership with the University of Alabama’s Counseling Center to offer dedicated mental health support to students, faculty, and staff within the college. As part of this initiative, we are excited to introduce Elizabeth Shahid, a licensed therapist embedded directly within the C&IS community.
Elizabeth’s role as the Embedded Therapist provides easy access to counseling services and support right in the heart of the C&IS building, Reese Phifer Hall. Whether you’re a student seeking counseling and support, or a faculty member needing guidance on how to assist distressed students, Elizabeth is available to offer confidential counseling, brief consultations, and workshops designed to support the mental well-being of the C&IS community.

Studying and practicing within the College of C&IS can be both exciting and demanding. The fast-paced, ever-changing environment can sometimes feel overwhelming—academically and socially.
