Dr. Gregory Perreault believes the best research begins by listening to the people shaping its future. His scholarship explores digital journalism, as well as lifestyle journalism.

By maintaining close relationships with journalists through interviews and his own freelance reporting, Dr. Perreault brings both scholarly insight and firsthand experience to his work. His research seeks to understand not only how journalism is changing, but how the profession can adapt while continuing to serve the public.

Impact Beyond the University

Perreault’s research has earned international recognition, including a Fulbright-Botstiber Fellowship, a fellowship with Oslo Metropolitan University’s Digital Journalism Research Group and multiple honors for his scholarship in journalism studies. His expertise has also been featured by media outlets around the world, including Le Monde in France and Falter and ORF in Austria, where he has shared insights on the changing nature of journalism.

Beyond his research, Perreault remains an active contributor to the profession through freelance writing for publications such as Nonprofit Quarterly and CQ Researcher. These experiences allow him to connect academic research with the realities facing journalists and news organizations every day.
