As you consider your charitable giving near the end of the year, the College of Communication & Information Sciences encourages alumni to consider giving back to the College through the Rising Tide Capital Campaign (RTCP). Donating now could generate income tax deductions that may help reduce your tax bill for 2024.

“The Rising Tide Capital Campaign has brought the impact of philanthropy to the forefront,” said Laurie Wright, director of development for C&IS. “Your end of year contribution allows our college to develop and expand programs, support students with financial needs and afford more experiential learning opportunities.

The following funds benefit the College of Communication & Information Sciences, inspiring the next generation of communications leaders – from industry immersion to student financial support.

Capstone Communication Society Fund – Gifts to this fund provide support for an array of projects and priorities across the College. This is an important annual fund for the College of Communication and Information Sciences and plays an impactful role in enhancing the experience of our students through opportunities such as student scholarships, experiential learning trips and workshops, and student work/internship experiences within the College. This is an excellent fund for supporting the overall mission and vision of the College of C&IS

Student Balance Relief Fund –This fund is a valuable resource for students who have student account balances between $50 -$1500 and are unable to make the payment. These students are faced with the possibility of an account hold, which may prevent class registration or in some cases, graduation. The goal of this fund is to positively impact our retention and graduation rates and ease a financial burden for CIS students. Such funds are transformative to the recipients experience in C&IS and their ability to stay in college and graduate.

Said Wright, “Gifts of just $10, $50 or $100 to the Rising Tide can make a difference in the lives of C&IS students. We are grateful for your philanthropic support.”
