The Office of Research provides support to facilitate faculty research, scholarship, and creative activity through its leadership, research environments, initiatives and funding opportunities. As the overarching body with oversight of research and creative resources, the Office of Research seeks to empower faculty in pursuit of scholarly excellence, driving innovation and advancing knowledge.

The Institute for Communication & Information Research

The Institute for Communication & Information Research (ICIR) offers research and creative services to companies and organizations of all sizes. From data collection and analysis to logo design and facility rentals, ICIR connects organizations and individuals with top communication and information professionals at The University of Alabama.

Research Facilities

The Office of Research in C&IS offers dedicated research labs for faculty, graduate, and undergraduate students. These facilities provide comprehensive support for research, scholarship, and creative media projects, including film production and storytelling.
