Request Forms

Before Your Advising Session

  1. Review DegreeWorks

    Log into DegreeWorks

    Confirm that your major and minor are correct and look through your remaining course requirements.

  2. Review your registration information

    From the Student tab on myBama, select “Registration” from the left column.

    Click on Registration Status to see when you can begin registering for classes.

    Check that you have no holds or advising pins. If there are any (as shown by a red X), make an appointment with your advisor.

  3. Write out questions for your advisor

    Before you meet with your advisor, identify the specific topics you want to discuss.

    Examples:

    > Course planning
    > Major/minor options
    > Academic warnings
    > Getting involved

Career Services

Meet with the Career Center at C&IS to discuss your interests, values and skills and to begin career planning. Participate in mock interviews and resume critiques and gain access to UA’s job search database, Handshake. 

Graduation

The University of Alabama awards degrees in May, August and December. To see dates and times for upcoming Commencement ceremonies, see the Academic Calendar.

Important Graduation Reminders

  1. Meet with your advisor

    Meet with your academic advisor prior to submitting your degree application to ensure you are on-track to graduate in the anticipated timeframe.

  2. Attend a graduation info session

    Attend a graduation information session prior to applying to graduate. Click here to register.

  3. Submit your degree application

    You must submit a degree application for the term in which you will complete your degree requirements. Click here for degree application deadlines.

AMP

C&IS offers three accelerated master’s programs in Advertising & Public Relations, Communication Studies and Journalism and Media Studies.
