NBA Internship Program: Summer 2026

The NBA Summer Internship is a 10-week program that runs from early June to mid-August. The program provides participants with the opportunity to learn about the business of basketball, develop critical career skills, and contribute to meaningful projects across a range of departments within the NBA.

Program Overview:

Internships are open to both undergraduate and graduate students. To be eligible, applicants must be either a rising senior or current graduate student in an accredited institution at the time of the program.

We look for individuals who share our passion for the game and mission of the NBA- to inspire and connect people everywhere through the power of basketball.

Candidates should be in excellent academic standing and have strong written, and verbal communication skills. Additionally, we look for candidates who possess leadership skills as demonstrated through relevant extracurricular or community activities.

Interns are aligned to a specific business area for the duration of the program and work on current NBA projects and initiatives. Depending on the department, you may spend time working in both the New York or New Jersey offices. Interns work a full 40-hour work-week (Monday-Friday), along with optional evening & weekend events, on occasion. In addition to on-the-job experience, interns are invited to participate in a broad array of professional development programs, as well as community and social experiences.

Hiring Process:

Applicants can apply to one of nine postings organized by business area. Applicants should apply to the job posting most aligned to their professional experience.

Selected candidates will be invited to a video interview later in the fall. Final interviews will take place in early Spring with final offers confirmed by March 2026.

  1. Find ONE of the job postings matching your area of interest and professional experience.
  2. Click apply and create a candidate profile.
  3. From there, your application will be reviewed by the NBA Talent Acquisition team and the most qualified candidates will be invited to submit a video interview in November.
  4. Select candidates will be invited to participate in live interviews with the hiring team via Zoom in late January/early February.
