About GPB: Georgia Public Broadcasting (GPB) is a statewide dual licensee network of twenty-two radio stations and nine television stations that broadcast across the state of Georgia. GPB believes strongly in the value of education. We strive to apply classroom theory to practical work experience. This internship offers hands-on experience with sports production, digital and social content creation, and digital media archiving while working alongside the team behind Football Fridays in Georgia. Interns can test their creative talent, exercise their analytical skills, and increase their understanding of digital media operations and trends.
The Intern will:
- Assist the media operations team in organizing, cataloging, and ingesting historical football broadcasts into GPB’s archival system.
- Work with the Sports production team to create graphics using Canva and/or Adobe Photoshop.
- Attend Friday night football broadcast games, flag and tackle live stream games, and Championship games, as needed or requested, to assist with content for GPB Sports’ various social platforms.
- Assist with field shoots and in-house studio productions and editing sessions as needed.
- Capture photos and video and edit for GPB’s social media platforms.
- Support additional digital content and production needs throughout the football season.
- Receive hands-on experience with sports journalism, social media and digital engagement strategies.
- Gain first-hand knowledge of digital content production including Adobe Creative Cloud for editing.
- Shadow production and social media personnel
