LA-based actor and producer Meredith Riley Stewart is looking for an enthusiastic intern to join her team this fall. She’s searching for a candidate enrolled in an entertainment-focused degree program who is eager to gain hands-on experience in exchange for academic credit. This is a virtual position.
Meredith’s work is two-pronged — as an actor and as a producer — so a strong candidate is interested in both talent management, casting, and marketing, as well as packaging, physical production, and distribution strategy. She has produced four features and numerous shorts and web series. She is a partner at Aegis Creative Media, which holds the option to a successful off-Broadway play now in development as a feature film. The intern may have the opportunity to take part in development meetings on that film.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Weekly meetings on topics of interest to the intern
- Self-guided follow-up between weekly meetings
- Research on industry-related trends
- Oversee communication threads, replying with timely information
- Research on creative teams currently developing projects
- Daily submissions on casting sites
- Oversee marketing campaigns and calendars
- Create and maintain spreadsheets of contacts and outreach
SKILLS NECESSARY
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong administrative skills — internal documents, spreadsheets, Google Drive
- Strong organizational skills — files, labeling, calendars, list-making
- Demonstrated interest in the entertainment industry
- A proactive, inquisitive nature
WHAT YOU’LL GAIN
- Weekly Zoom meetings with Meredith covering pressing, timely items for her business alongside topics of interest to you — you’ll leave each session with specific tasks for the following week. Time commitment is about 10 hours/week.
- Access to industry events — screenings, networking gatherings, and events through WIF, Greenlight Women, SAG, Television Academy, and others, if geographically possible (in LA and/or GA).
- Growth potential — the possibility of a future paid position as projects move into pre-production.
