About the Job:

The Communications Intern is an important, supporting role for Gopuff’s highly-productive and nimble communications team. Reporting to the Sr. Associate of Consumer Comms, this role will support a variety of day-to-day media relations, internal communications, and influencer marketing tasks. This is a fantastic opportunity for a young professional to gain experience primarily with consumer communications, but also with internal, corporate, and crisis communications.

Gopuff takes pride in creative problem-solving and in-person collaborating to make quick and informed decisions. This role will have a hybrid work schedule, where you will be able to showcase your creativity and build strong relationships with teams in a cross-functional manner three days a week (Tuesday – Thursday) from our Philadelphia or New York hub locations!

This is a 10-week paid internship (Approx. 24 hrs/week, term expected: June 3-August 9)

Pay: $15-18/hour, depending on location/city

You Will:

  • Create and update media lists and support with media outreach, helping to build key media relationships and manage inbound media requests.
  • Draft pitches and blog posts, press releases, social media posts, internal communications and more.
  • Work cross-functionally with internal departments, including merchandise and marketing to identify and draft newsworthy pitches and help secure appropriate coverage.
  • Liaise and collaborate closely with the external consumer public relations agency to prepare for announcements.
  • Support thought leadership and executive communications initiatives by drafting award applications and developing briefs.
  • Develop regular reports on Gopuff’s media coverage as well as industry trends. Help manage and recommend content for Gopuff’s LinkedIn page, ensuring a consistent drumbeat of relevant and engaging information is shared with the company’s followers.
  • Develop and edit internal content for distribution to various sectors of the business, including field and headquarters employees.
  • Support with identifying, vetting, and recruiting content creators for relevant brand partnerships.
  • Track news coverage resulting from team outreach and package results to be shared with Gopuff’s leadership team.
  • Participate in brainstorms for promotional brand initiatives.
  • Monitor cultural trends to ensure the team is thinking proactively and taking advantage of real-time opportunities that align with company priorities.
  • Additional duties as assigned by leadership.

You Have:

  • Availability to work Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (24 hours per week) from June 4-August (10 weeks), including some time in Gopuff’s Philadelphia or New York City office preferred.
  • Exceptional communication, organizational, writing and editing skills with careful attention to detail
  • Highly motivated individual with an entrepreneurial mindset and bias for action
  • Experience pitching and cultivating relationships with media
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and a proven ability to think critically


  • Must be a rising Junior, Senior OR Graduate Student (18 years or older)
  • Must be in academic good standing (3.0 or above GPA)
  • Previous internship or work experience in the communications space
