Marketing Internship Responsibilities

  • Generate compelling discount flyers and marketing materials like pitch letters for upcoming publications.
  • Assist in maintaining and updating the UAP reviewer database, ensuring we have a diverse pool of experts for manuscript evaluations.
  • Contribute to the University of Alabama Press blog and social media channels, crafting engaging content that connects with readers and promotes scholarly publications.
  • Participate in some light administrative duties to support the marketing department.
    This internship is an on-site position at The University of Alabama. We are not currently considering remote work options.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • Relevant coursework in marketing, advertising, public relations, or digital media.

Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a keen eye for detail and clarity.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and/or Express.
  • Basic understanding of social media platforms and digital marketing principles.

Additional Considerations

  • Interns will work approximately 12 hours per week and may be eligible to receive 3 hours of course credit.
  • Enthusiasm for learning and a willingness to take on new challenges in a fast-paced environment.
