As an intern on our Partner Sales & Success team, you will directly contribute to the success of our new and existing retailer partnerships relationships & strategy. Your work will help enhance the retailer relationships across Shipt’s service lines (Marketplace and Delivery Only), and identify growth opportunities that support our goals. By collaborating with both internal teams and retailer partners, you’ll gain a unique understanding of client relationships and partner support to develop skills to drive impactful results.
How You’ll Spend Your Summer
- Partner Sales & Account Management Support: Assist the team in managing key retailer accounts, ensuring smooth communication and addressing any retailer inquiries or concerns.
- Sales Strategy & Reporting: Help analyze grocery industry data, performance metrics, and trends to identify opportunities for growth in the retail sector.
- Campaign Execution: Support the planning and execution of grocery-specific sales campaigns, promotional activities, and in-store merchandising strategies with our retail partners.
- Collaboration Across Teams: Work with marketing, finance, product, operations and more across the company.
- Customer Engagement: Assist with ensuring our products are properly stocked and presented in grocery stores, supporting store-level initiatives to boost sales.
- Learning & Development: Take part in weekly team meetings, where you’ll learn from industry experts and contribute to strategic discussions focused on the grocery sector.
- Special Research Project: Deep dive into a special research project you’ll own and ultimately report out on at the end of your internship. The topic will be decided on collectively, but may encompass how AI can be leveraged to drive efficiency and effectiveness for the Partner Sales & Success team and our retailer partners.
What You’ll Need to be Successful
- Education & Experience: Current student pursuing a degree in Business, Marketing, AI & Machine Learning, Retail Management, or a related field.
- Skills: Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and a detail-oriented mindset. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is essential.
- Curiosity & Drive: A passion for learning, especially within the retail industry. You’ll need to be proactive and eager to take on new challenges.
- Team Player: Ability to collaborate effectively across different teams while also being able to take ownership of individual tasks.
- Organizational Skills: The ability to manage multiple projects and tasks, ensuring deadlines are met with attention to detail.
- Interest in the Grocery Industry: A basic understanding of the grocery retail sector, consumer shopping behavior, and sales trends in the food and beverage space is an advantage, but a strong willingness to learn is key!
- Interest in Sales: A basic understanding of retail operations and sales strategies will be an advantage, but a willingness to learn is key!
“Nice-to-Have” Skills
- Retail Industry Experience: Prior experience in retail or grocery retail.
- Analytical Tools: Experience with data analysis tools or platforms (such as Google Analytics, Tableau, or Power BI).
- CRM Software Knowledge: Familiarity with customer relationship management (CRM) systems like Salesforce.
Work Arrangement
This is a full-time remote or hybrid (for those based in Birmingham, AL, San Francisco, CA, or Minneapolis, MN) Summer 2025 Internship. Our program will run for 10 weeks, beginning on Monday, June 2, 2025, and ending on Friday, August 8, 2025. All interns will maintain a consistent, full-time work schedule and participate fully in program activities.
Shipt considers candidates located near a Shipt office or workspace in Birmingham, San Francisco, or Minneapolis to be hybrid, which means that they have the flexibility to work from home (with leader approval) or at a Shipt office in order to facilitate the ability to innovate, collaborate, and spark team connections. In-office expectations will vary by role and leader.
