About:

Students have the opportunity to work hand-in-hand with UA staff, architects, engineers, and consultants on an active multi-million-dollar real estate development project on campus in Tuscaloosa. The project will entail facilitating marketing studies, plans and research, business plan development, financial strategies and modeling, engineering and site planning, restaurant and hotel management, legal structures, interior design concepts as well as construction estimating for a component of the larger real estate development plan. The internship(s) will result in a recommendation from the internship team on how a certain business component of the development should be designed and operated.

The University will select a diverse interdiseplinary team of approximately 8-10 students with the skill sets to facilitate the project and impact all aspects of the delivery cycle of the project from concept to opening and operations. All majors are welcome to apply, but this internship opportunity may be specifically relevant to business, communications, legal, hotel and restaurant management, interior design, and engineering majors.

The paid internship will take place in Tuscaloosa but will require students to work independently as well as part of the larger team. Hours are flexible but may range from 20-30 hours a week from end of classes in May to August.

Requirements:

  • Rising junior or senior
  • Have at least a 3.0 GPA
  • Highly motivated with a desire to learn about real estate development, restaurant and hotel operations and management and project delivery
  • Strong communication skills
  • Previous job experience, technology skills, and relevant academic experience showing examples of team collaboration and group-project assignments will be a consideration

The City of Tuscaloosa is looking for a public relations intern works with the Strategic Communications Department of the city  to assist in executing the City’s public relations strategy across platforms including social media, press releases, websites and more. This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of projects including special events such as the Druid City Arts Festival and Holidays on the plaza. The public relations intern also has the opportunity to work closely with the marketing & graphic design team on City campaigns. The position is around 20 hours a week, beginning in the summer and hopefully extending into subsequent semesters.

Qualifications:

  • Current student studying Public Relations, Communications, Advertising, News Media,
    or similar

Alumni Hall is a Collegiate Gameday Apparel & Accessory store with a passion to provide the best experience for students, alumni and fans. With 28 stores across the nation and 4 of them being in Alabama, Alumni Hall has now grown to become the hometown college store for some of the greatest fan bases in the country.

We are looking for PR/Marketing Interns to partake in duties for Alumni Hall’s social media and online presence. These duties will include:

  1. Providing strategic thinking for our marketing team and assisting them with pitching materials.
  2. Monitor and report updated current events related to Alabama’s on campus information.
